Although AIM wasn't very successful at maintaining peaceful interactions with the government, they still made a difference in the Native American community. The group allowed Native Americans to get back what had been taken away from them and lost. They were multiple tribes' salvation. By first getting media, having several protests, countless cases that reached the Federal court, and salvaging what was left of Native American's respect and placement in the U.S, AIM stood up for their people and protected what was rightfully  theirs.
